Brazos County Burn Ban Information

BRAZOS COUNTY BURN BAN INFORMATION

Effective October 27, 2023, Brazos County is no longer under a burn ban.

Outdoor burning is currently allowed, subject to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations.

 View TCEQ guidelines HERE.

Even during times that Brazos County is not in a burn ban, please call the non-emergency number for Brazos County 9-1-1 Dispatch at 979-361-3888 to inform them of your controlled burn prior to initiating your controlled burn.

The dispatcher will inform you if there is a burn ban in place and gather information from you about the location of your controlled burn and what is being burned.

This information is of great help to the fire department in the event a person passing by calls 911 and reports a fire.

Even if a burn ban is not in effect, you are still responsible for adhering to the rules enacted by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and Brazos County's, rules for outdoor burning if you initiate a controlled burn.
